Did you know...?
Guinea
pigs are very susceptible to cold, draughts and damp. They should only be bathed if it's
absolutely necessary.
Guinea
pigs have been traced back to the Incas in the 16th century. The Peruvians kept them for
food. They were first introduced to Europe from South America, by sailors, who were the
first people to keep them as pets.
Like
humans, guinea pigs are unable to generate their own Vitamin C. It is therefore imortant
that they recieve suffcient Vitamin C from their diet.
Unlike
most other rodents, guinea pigs have some degree of colour vision.
