Im nocturnal, which means Ill sleep during the day and will be active at night this is great if youre at school or at work, cos I wont even miss you. When you come home, you can play with me for hours on end (after youve done your homework, though!).

The most common pet hamsters are Syrian (sometimes called Golden Hamsters). The golden rule with Golden Hamsters is that they DONT like hamster company. Theyll fight to the death if you put two of them in a cage together, as theyre extremely territorial. If you would like a pair of hamsters, take a look at Russian or Chinese Hamsters (often known as Dwarf hamsters) as they prefer to live in pairs. Remember, a mixed pair will mate. But NEVER mix Russian and Chinese Hamsters.

Like all my friends, I like to be kept indoors in as large a cage as you can find for me. Dont give me a wooden cage, though, or Ill chew my way out of it. Metal cages feel cold and I dont like them very much, so choose a plastic cage or glass aquarium (called a vivarium) and keep it away from drafts, heaters, fridges, direct sunlight, other pets AND any sort of noise - as I have very sensitive hearing.
